HBO Max is letting audiences know they should be in your consideration for a streaming service subscription as they ramp up their Original Content Production in 2020 and beyond. Its latest project, “The Flight Attendant.” The Limited Series Drama starring Kaley Cuoco, Rosie Perez and Michael Huisman hit the streaming site on Thanksgiving Day and it’s a binge-able series that will surely capture our limited attention spans. HBO Max dropped the first three episodes which you will most likely watch consecutively to try to solve the case.

The Series is based off the book of the same name that was published in 2018 by Chris Bohjalian. The Limited Series follows the same premise and stars Cuoco as Cassie Bowden, an alcoholic flight attendant for Imperial Atlantic, an international Airline based out of New York City. When Cassie is not serving passengers on their cross-continental flights, she spends her free time attending bottomless brunches, partying in Night Clubs and chugging vodka. It’s not uncommon for her to be taking advantage of the in-flight bar service and waking up in beautiful stranger’s beds. From the early scenes in the show, we find that Cassie so often mixes business with pleasure. It is clear she doesn’t even recognize the difference any more.
When Cassie boards another International flight, she finds herself drawn to the passenger seated in 3C, Alex (Michael Huisman). During some in-flight flirting and scandalous mile-high club participation in the bathroom, Alex de-boards the plane but not before slipping his business card into Cassie’s hand. Unable to turn down an evening with an exciting stranger, Cassie and Alex spend the night wandering through exciting Bangkok to end up in Alex’s Penthouse bedroom. All’s well, right? Until Cassie wakes up the next morning next to Alex in bed, with his throat sliced open.
Terrified that she will be framed for his murder and with no recollection from the night before, Cassie finds herself cleaning up the crime scene after consulting her lawyer friend about the repercussions of Amanda Knox. Fleeing the crime scene, Cassie quickly boards a flight to Seoul right as authorities find Alex’s dead body. Suffering from flashbacks from the night before, as Cassie arrives back in the United States, she is greeted at the gate by the FBI questioning the entire flight crew about their interactions with 3C the day prior. Cassie, at the forefront of the evolving investigation.
The series is a booze-filled wild ride, you are trying to uncover the murder along with Cassie as the series unfolds. Cuoco gives memorable performances in her first role since “Big Bang Theory” concluded in the Spring of 2019 and the series shows off her acting repertoire. The unique story-telling flashes between sequences in a way that will keep audiences attention for each 45-minute episode, making this Limited Series worth the eight-episode investment for HBO Max.
